Director of BMA board resigns

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) has announced that E Barclay Simmons has resigned from its board of directors, effective 25th October 2015.

Simmons, who is also the managing partner of ASW Law, resigned from the board upon assuming increased responsibilities at one of the authority’s licensed entities.

The honourable Gerald Simons, chairman of the authority’s board of directors, thanked Simmons for his nearly nine-year tenure at the authority.

“Mr Simmons joined the board in January 2007. He chaired the board’s investment committee which is responsible for ensuring the prudent investment of the authority’s portfolio of assets and he was a member of the board’s corporate governance and ethics committee,” said Simons.
