Bermuda Tech Summit to hold panel on insuring digital assets

The co-founder of Meanwhile, the first crypto currency life insurer, will be among the speakers at the Bermuda Tech Summit, which takes place in October.

Zac Townshend launched the Bermuda-based company in June to offer life insurance policies in which the premiums and benefits are paid in Bitcoin. It was launched with $19 million in funding.

Townshend is one of 15 confirmed speakers for the event, which takes place from October 8-10 at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess with the theme “Building a Foundation for the Future”.

One of the panels will be: ‘Insuring Continuity – Safeguarding the Future of Digital Assets’.

It is presented by the Bermuda Business Development Agency and its diamond sponsor is fintech insurer Relm.
