AXIS Insurance appoints executive vice president

AXIS Insurance, the Bermuda insurance segment of AXIS Capital, has chosen John Tatum as its executive vice president and head of US programmes.

Tatum will be managing all programmes and binding authorities for AXIS Insurance across the US market.

He will report directly to Carlton Maner, chief executive officer of the US division for AXIS Insurance. Tatum has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

He recently held the position of senior vice president of CNA’s middle market, construction and large casualty business units. He has also served many roles of underwriting and marketing during his 15-year employment at CAN Financial Corporation.

“AXIS Insurance has been successfully expanding its programs business writings in recent years, reflecting a broader appetite across multiple distribution channels,” Maner said.

“John brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge to our team, and his appointment will allow us to accelerate our growth in this space while maintaining a balanced and high-quality book of business.”
