Pereira joins SRS to support ILS expansion

Anna Pereira has been appointed to the newly created position of senior vice president of insurance linked securities (ILS) at Strategic Risk Solutions.

Pereira takes up her role on March 1, 2021 and will remain in Bermuda, reporting to Jonathan Reiss, managing director at SRS. She will be responsible for supporting SRS’s ongoing expansion in the ILS and fund administration sectors.

Pereira has over 25 years of experience in the re/insurance, alternative risk transfer and capital markets in Bermuda. She is currently a director and co-founder of MANA Consulting and for the last six years has specialised in ILS and collateralised reinsurance for transformer entities and fronting carriers.

She was formerly head of treasury for Horseshoe Group. Before that she was head of captive and insurance banking at HSBC Bank Bermuda, where she was instrumental in leading the bank’s ILS initiative and record growth in Bermuda and the US. She has also held underwriting positions at Chubb Financial Solutions, Quanta Re, and Everest Re in Bermuda.

Pereira has served on ILS Bermuda’s steering committee since its inception.

Reiss highlighted the “significant growth opportunities presented by current market conditions.”

The appointment follows a number of other SRS hires, including Matthew Charleson, Derek Bridgeman and Peter Child.
