MS Amlin Underwriting names Wilken as head of the reinsurance division

MS Amlin Underwriting (MS AUL) has appointed Matthew Wilken as head of the reinsurance division, a new position at the company.

Wilken will report to Andrew Carrier, chief underwriting officer (CUO) of MS AUL, when he takes up his post in early May, subject to regulatory approval. He will be based in London.

Wilken has more than thirty years of reinsurance experience and was most recently active underwriter of Syndicate 1910 and deputy global head of reinsurance at Ariel Re. He began his career at Kiln Syndicate and held various posts before taking on the role of deputy active underwriter. He joined Argo Re in 2008 as CUO and in 2013 became president, taking on responsibility for the European reinsurance office in Brussels and coordinating with London-based Treaty classes.

Carrier said the appointment “demonstrates our commitment to enhance both the bench strength of our reinsurance team and support our ongoing business transformation.”
