KPMG hires BDA’s Jereme Ramsay

KPMG has hired Jereme Ramsay as senior manager, markets at KPMG in Bermuda, focusing on business development and marketing.

Ramsay joins from the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) where he was business development manager for the risk sector. He was at the BDA for more than five years, chairing a number of working groups, including on captives, cyber, healthcare liability and insurtech.

He will take up his post at KPMG in February and will support its growth strategy. He will spend around 60 percent of his time working with Bermuda’s insurance industry, including its captives, with the remaining time spent with clients in other sectors such as banking, asset management and the public sector.

There are synergies between Ramsay’s previous role at the BDA and his new one at KPMG, he said. He will continue to work with many of the same clients and hopes to continue attracting more business to the island, as well as helping those that are already active there to grow their business.

Ramsay said: “I am really proud of the work I have done at the BDA. We have really moved the needle in terms of growing inward investment and creating new business opportunities.”

Until he takes up his new position in February, Ramsay will be working with a number of local Bermudian charities, including the Walter S Saul Youth Exchange Bursary, of which he is president of the board and executive director. The bursary seeks to help students in Bermuda finance participation in exchange programmes.
