Kemper names new head of reinsurance

Chicago-based Kemper Corporation has made Mark Green responsible for business development and reinsurance.

Green continues to report to Joseph Lacher, the president and CEO of Kemper, and retains responsibility for the life and health division while his replacement for that role is found.

Lacher said the role would give Green “the opportunity to leverage his reinsurance expertise, an area of increasing importance to the company as we grow.”

Green joined Kemper in 2016 as president of the life and health business. “Since that time, we’ve made tremendous progress on our transformation and are at a point in our evolution where our plans for long-term growth will benefit from focused leadership in each area,” said Lacher. Green’s “strong entrepreneurial background and his understanding of how to create growth strategies makes him well-suited for this new role,” he added.

Before joining Kemper Green held senior executive roles with Allstate, AIX Group, Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Chubb Financial Solutions, and Swiss Re.
