Hiscox names Russ Findlay as group chief marketing officer

Hiscox has promoted Russ Findlay to the role of group chief marketing officer.

He leads a 125-strong global marketing team and is responsible for Hiscox’s global marketing and brand-building activity, with a particular focus on its key retail markets across the UK, mainland Europe and the USA. He reports to Ben Walter, chief executive officer of Hiscox Global Retail.

Findlay succeeds Steve Langan, who due to the growth of Hiscox USA will now focus solely on his role as chief executive officer of that business.

Findlay has been with Hiscox since 2013, having most recently served as chief marketing officer for Hiscox USA. He has previously served as senior vice president of marketing for IHOP, chief marketing officer for Major League Soccer and vice president of marketing for PepsiCo. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Association of National Advertisers and the National Advertising Review.

He has spearheaded several award-winning marketing campaigns, including Hiscox’s Encourage Courage brand platform. In 2018 was named Marketer of the Year by the Association of National Advertisers.

Walker said: “When [Findlay] joined Hiscox 14 years ago, he established the company’s first fully integrated marketing department. Building a brand takes time, but thanks to his energy and expertise we now have not only an internationally recognised brand but also a world-class marketing team.”
