Guy Carpenter unveils new Asia Pacific catastrophe advisory group

Guy Carpenter & Company has launched its Asia Pacific catastrophe advisory group (APCAG) and named Jeremy Waite to lead the operation.

APCAG offers clients direct access to Guy Carpenter’s catastrophe expertise and capabilities, including in-house analytics experts, scientific partners, and public-sector specialists. It works with companies across Asia Pacific, developing solutions and providing access to new sources of capital to manage these exposures and address the impact of climate change.

Waite has more than 25 years of experience in the re/insurance sector, spanning underwriting, actuarial and broking roles across all classes, and catastrophe modeling in the UK and Australia.

Waite retains his current role leading Guy Carpenter’s property treaty broking team in Australia and New Zealand.

Tony Gallagher, chief executive officer of Asia Pacific at Guy Carpenter, said: “In responding to the escalating risks stemming from climate change and the increasing demands of both regulators and stakeholders, our new APCAG will provide the depth and breadth of expertise needed to help clients become more resilient against the changing nature of risks.”
