Fidelis names CEO of rebranded partnership pillar

Fidelis has appointed Philip Vandoninck, its head of international underwriting, to CEO of Socium, its newly branded partnership pillar.

The renaming is part of Fidelis’ four pillar strategy, an ongoing restructuring exercise to deliver enhanced focus and execution. As part of the rebranding Fidelis has assigned a dedicated resource framework around this function.

Socium said it wants to increase its focus on its risk allocation capabilities. Vandoninck has a designated team assisting him with the servicing of existing relationships, with enhanced reporting as well as developing new ones.

Richard Brindle, chairman and group CEO of Fidelis, said Vandoninck had been integral to the success and growth of the group’s partnership pillar, and “has ably demonstrated his underwriting and business acumen.”

Vandoninck said: “Fidelis has the ability to access business in excess of its own balance sheet appetite. Fidelis’ partners can benefit from its underwriting outperformance and Fidelis’ access to a diversified portfolio of business, from property reinsurance tobespoke and specialty classes. Fidelis adopts a tailored partnership approach with rated carriers as well as third party capital investors, and offers partners the opportunity tosupport a broad range of product lines if desired.”
