Everest Re promotes Sharry Tibbitt to deputy CUO for reinsurance

Everest Re Group has promoted Sharry Tibbitt to become deputy chief underwriting officer for the reinsurance division.

She reports to Chris Downey, chief underwriting officer for the reinsurance division. They will work with leadership across the division to guide and manage the overall reinsurance portfolio, while developing profitable areas for growth and continued diversification.

Tibbitt has more than two decades of industry experience. She joined Everest in 2011 and has held a number of roles, including senior vice president of property and specialty and vice president of treaty underwriting. She also helped launch and implement Everest’s internal underwriting platform.

John Doucette, president and chief executive officer of the reinsurance division, praised Tibbitt’s “lead by example mentality”, describing her as “pivotal in planning the strategy and execution of transitioning Everest onto a more modern, comprehensive underwriting platform.”
