Brit strengthens programmes underwriting with Scott Davis hire

Brit has appointed Scott Davis as vice president of programmes underwriting, for Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU).

Davis has over 25 years of underwriting experience and joins from Pioneer Underwriters where he was head of underwriting management. Before that he held senior roles at AXIS Insurance and American Safety Insurance Services, having started his underwriting career with AIG.

He is based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and reports to Noreen Metcalfe, executive vice president of reinsurance. He assumes responsibility for managing BGSU’s programmes team and will develop and expand the existing portfolio of risks.

Jess Pryor, executive chairman of Brit Insurance Services USA, emphasised the importance of the programmes team to BGSU, adding that Davis’ “underwriting experience and track record of working with MGAs will be a strong complement to our existing programmes team as it continues to identify and develop niche opportunities for growth.”
