AXIS Re promotes Michael Leahey to head of agriculture reinsurance

AXIS Re has promoted Michael Leahey to head of agriculture reinsurance.

Leahey takes up his post on July 1 and remains in Zurich. He reports to Ann Haugh, president of global markets for AXIS Re.

Leahey assumes responsibility for setting the strategy, optimising our portfolio and leading the underwriting of AXIS Re’s agriculture business.

He has worked at AXIS Re since 2017, most recently as a senior property underwriter. From August 2019 to January 2020, he was interim head of property EMEA LatAm. Before joining AXIS he held various senior underwriting property and casualty positions in the industry.
