Western World expands product scope with senior VP appointment

Western World Insurance Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bermuda-based Validus Holdings, has appointed Arya Yarpezeshkan as senior vice president (VP), director of risk management.

Yarpezeshkan’s team will be based in the US and will help Western World expand its product scope, working to make new products and services available to its clients. He will report to Thad DeBerry, chief operating officer at Western World.

Prior to joining Western World, Yarpezeshkan served as the chief risk officer at Navigators, where he led the global enterprise risk management (ERM) program.

Before Navigators, he was chief risk officer and VP of strategic planning for Tokio Marine Management in the US. Yarpezeshkan’s experience in enterprise risk management developed from his role at MasterCard, where he served as business leader of the ERM division.
