Securis strengthens management team

ILS manager, Securis, which recently established an office in Bermuda, has appointed Martin Reith as advisory director.

In the newly-created role, Reith will help and advise with business planning and strategic development, participate on the Securis board, provide oversight of internal procedures and risk management, and help with introductions to cedants, brokers and investors, according to Securis.

Reith has 25 years of insurance experience, most notably as founder and CEO of Ascot Underwriting.

Commenting on Reith’s appointment, Rob Proctor, CEO of Securis says: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of Martin’s obvious stature, experience and calibre to work with us at Securis as we further develop our ILS and reinsurance businesses.”

“These are exciting times as ILS continues to exert a disruptive influence on the global reinsurance industry with implications for the way all businesses in the space are structured and capitalised.  As Securis continues to grow, including development into new areas, we can only succeed if we strive to attract the best talent in the business to help take us to the next level.  In Martin I am confident we have achieved exactly that.”
