PartnerRe appoints new LatAm head

Humberto Cabrera has joined PartnerRe as its new head of Latin America. According to the company he will lead the development of company's business in the region.

Cabrera will be based in company’s Miami office and he replaces interim head Salvatore Orlando, who will continue in his position of head of Middle East, Africa and Russia (MEAR) at PartnerRe.

The company said that Cabrera will report to CEO of property/casualty segment and group executive committee member Tad Walker.

Cabrera joins PartnerRe from Aon Benfield, where he was the chief commercial officer and head of treaty of Aon Benfield Latin America, responsible for strategic planning and managing regional and local reinsurance operations in the region.

Prior to that, Cabrera was the CEO and president of Aon Benfield Colombia. Throughout his 25-year of reinsurance career, Cabrera has worked exclusively in the Latin American region as well as parts of the Caribbean.
