Markel CATCo announces underwriting team promotions
Markel CATCo Investment Management has announced that a number of changes to its underwriting team.
Alissa Fredricks has been appointed chief risk officer. Located in Bermuda, she oversees the Company’s portfolio and all underwriting activity.
Fredricks joined Markel CATCo in May 2016 as a senior actuary, and was formerly with AIR Worldwide where she was responsible for leading catastrophe risk modelling consulting services for the insurance and reinsurance markets, which included advising regulators and rating agencies.
At the same time Simon Moore has been appointed as co-chief underwriting officer alongside Lindsay Watson. Simon joined CATCo Investment Management as a senior underwriter in July 2015. Prior to joining CATCo, Simon was a senior technical reinsurance broker at AON Benfield. CATCo was acquired by Markel Corporation on 8 December 2015. Moore and Watson will report to Fredricks.
