JLT Re continues Bermuda expansion with new partner appointment

Reinsurance broking and consultancy firm JLT Re has appointed Nicolas Bardon as a partner in its Bermuda operation, as it continues to grow its operations on the Island.

Bardon will report to Guy Hengesbaugh, Partner and Head of Office for JLT Re in Bermuda.

“Nicolas is a great addition to the team and we welcome his experience and ability in not just reinsurance but also banking and finance,” said Hengesbaugh. “He will be an invaluable asset to our clients as we continue to expand in Bermuda. Our focus on understanding the long term needs of our clients combined with a more innovative approach to finding the right solutions means our team will continue to build on its success in this important market place We have seen our operation in Bermuda more than double in size over the last 4 years and have benefited from JLT Re’s growing international reach and expertise.”

Bardon will join in the near future, with no exact date being announced by the company. He will work closely with Gary Reynolds and others on its industry loss warranties team in Bermuda, London and New York.

Bardon was formerly at Somerset Holdings where he led business development and production since 2013. Prior to that he worked in the banking sector and held key positions at CitiGroup and Bank of NY Mellon.
