Ironshore Environmental appoints new chief claims officer

Thomas Duggan has been promoted to the position of chief claims officer at Ironshore Environmental, a subsidiary of Ironshore.

He will be located in Ironshore’s New York office and will report to Mike Mitrovic, president of global claims. Duggan will oversee specialty market claims management and processes throughout Ironshore Environmental’s global platform.

Duggan was the unit’s claims director before his appointment. His past experience includes almost a decade with Zurich American Insurance Companies where he served in multiple capacities including team manager for environmental claims, claims counsel, and site pollution underwriter. Previously, he was a claims analyst for the environmental and financial Institutions sectors, respectively, with AIG.

“Tom has become an integral part of the Environmental claims team and is intimately knowledgeable of the risk management and claims patterns of insureds within this specialist sector of the global insurance industry,” said John O’Brien, CEO, Ironshore Environmental. “Tom’s appointment reflects our confidence in his professional abilities to continue to be responsive and forward-thinking in helping environmental parties address risk exposure and resolve claims in a timely, efficient manner.”
