Hiscox, Bermuda-based specialist insurer, has promoted Matt Webb to group head of cyber.

He will be based in London but according to the company will travel across the company’s other offices to develop its cyber capabilities, including the US.

Webb will report to Richard Watson, Hiscox’s group chief underwriting officer, and will be responsible for developing the group’s cyber strategy and managing cyber risk exposure.

Most recently, Webb served as the head of technology, cyber and data underwriting for Hiscox UK and Ireland.

Webb’s career began over ten years ago joining Hiscox as a contingency underwriter. Following roles in professional indemnity for technology companies, he specialised in cyber insurance.

Watson said: “Matt’s experience in this line of business, which includes a track record of strong product innovation, means he will be invaluable in helping us make the most of the opportunity and leveraging our history and brand in this area.”
