Everest Re poaches ArgoGlobal exec

Everest Re Group, the Bermuda-based holding company, has appointed Paul Kneafsey as active underwriter of its Lloyd’s Syndicate 2786.  Kneafsey will begin the role on May 1, 2016. He joins Everest Re from ArgoGlobal where he was most recently head of casualty and responsible for a global portfolio in excess of £100 million of premium.  Kneafsey joined Argo in 2001 and served as active underwriter at Argo Syndicate 1200 from 2009 to 2013 before assuming his latest role. He began his career at Amlin and has gained more than 25 years of underwriting experience at Lloyd’s. “We are very excited to welcome Paul to Everest,” said Daryl Bradley, executive vice president and head of international insurance operations. “Paul’s professional stature and proven track record at Lloyd’s will serve us well as we build out our Lloyd’s Syndicate platform. His casualty underwriting background fits very well with the focus of our syndicate. I look forward to his joining the Everest team.”
