Axis Capital boosts P&C team

Axis Capital Holdings has appointed Rhonda Lohmar to the post of vice president, US Programs, for Axis Insurance’s property and casualty team.

Lohmar will be responsible for oversight of select Axis Insurance programs in the property and casualty sector. She will report to John Tatum, executive vice president and head of US Programs, at Axis Insurance, and is based out of the company’s Alpharetta, Georgia, office.

“Rhonda is a proven talent within the property and casualty space, and she brings extensive knowledge of the complex risks associated with these programs,” Tatum said. “Her combined management experience and product knowledge will help AXIS further develop more advanced offerings for our clients. Additionally, she will help ensure our team continually improves our existing products and services to help our clients manage risks in an environment where constant change is the norm.”

Lohmar has more than 20 years of experience in the property and casualty sector, including roles as a carrier underwriter, branch underwriting director and program manager. She joins Axis from Dallas-based brokerage MarketScout, where she led the development of the firm’s construction practice and inland marine binding facility.

Prior to that, she spent a combined 18 years at CNA, including serving as the company’s construction underwriting director and branch underwriting director for its Littleton, Colorado, office. She also worked within Travelers Insurance’s national practice division.
