ArgoGlobal names non-exec director of managing agency

ArgoGlobal, a Lloyd’s insurer and member of Bermuda-based Argo Group, has named Tony Latham as a non-executive director of the Board of Argo Managing Agency.  Latham brings more than four decades of insurance industry experience to the ArgoGlobal board. He will take up the role from 27 April, 2016. Latham began his career with Sedgwick (now part of Marsh), before joining RSA Group where, over a period of 17 years, he served as a member of the group executive and held a number of senior executive roles including managing director of the global risks division. He has also held several board positions across the industry; serving as a director of Pool Re for over two decades and as chairman of the industry mutual for over 12 years until his retirement from the role this year. He has also held directorial roles at Flagstone Re, Airclaims and British Aviation Insurance. Latham continues to serve on the boards of Codan A/S and Ecclesiastical. John Spencer, chairman of Argo Managing Agency, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Tony to ArgoGlobal. Today’s market environment is challenging. To ensure that ArgoGlobalbuilds on its successes requires us to continue to develop and broaden our expertise.  “Tony is a recognised industry figure who brings an exceptional track record and breadth of hugely relevant insurance experience. I am very pleased that he has agreed to join our board and I am certain his insight and counsel will be invaluable.” ArgoGlobal is the trading brand of Syndicate 1200 at Lloyd’s, managed by Argo Managing Agency.
