ArgoGlobal hires Liberty Mutual exec as head of claims

ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s insurer and member of Bermuda-based Argo Group, has hired Katie MacGregor as head of claims of ArgoGlobal.

MacGregor joins ArgoGlobal from Liberty Mutual where she worked for the last 12 years, most recently as deputy head of claims and head of the commercial lines claims division for Liberty Specialty Markets.

Prior to this role, MacGregor was head of claims for Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe, managing a team of 50 claims professionals located in the London, UK regional and European offices, covering a wide range of products spanning financial/professional lines, casualty, specialty, property, energy, construction and aviation.

She will report to David Lang, chief operating officer.

“We continue to recruit exceptional people at ArgoGlobal and are excited and delighted that a professional of Katie’s calibre is joining our high-performing team to continue to drive service combined with efficiencies,” said Lang.

“We have ambitious plans for Syndicate 1200 and our growing international office network, and the skills and knowledge that Katie brings from her experience of managing the claims for an international insurance company as well as her legal background will only serve to strengthen our proposition.”

MacGregor added: “ArgoGlobal has an enviable reputation in the market and has proven time and again that it really is a player in the international insurance arena. It has a clear strategy for future growth, and I am delighted to be joining ArgoGlobal to be part of that.

“I am looking forward to working with the team to help drive the business forward and continue to make us best in class.”
